The Spirit of District Elections

As Election Day inches closer, San Francisco politicos are buzzing with excitement, and apprehension—it is, after all, the first time in some 20 years the city will undergo district elections.

Placed on the ballot in 1996 with the intention of encouraging ethnic and political minorities to run for office, district elections, like all things San Franciscan, have stirred up quite a show.
