Getting at the core of the Filipino American War

One hundred years after the Philippines American War (1899-1906), an overseas descendent of this little-known historical tragedy holds a dance requiem at the San Francisco Presidio, where American troops had encamped before going off to war. The descendant is non other than San Francisco-based choreographer and cultural activist Pearl Ubungen, a fourth generation Filipina American known for her intense site-specific urban dance theater created through in-depth community engagement.
