Connecting Through Love

Solid Rock Media Inc., a Christian non-profit organization founded to reach out to Bay Area Asian American youths, is throwing Connecting through Love, an anti-drug charity concert at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center May 26. The concert is geared toward helping Bay Area youth to understand and resist the temptations of drug-use by enhancing parent-teenager relations. The performers include famous Taiwanese songwriter and singer Koa-lun Huang and celebrated popular singer Samuel Tai of Hong Kong, as well as two local Asian American artists, Alan Ang and Lily Wu.

Samuel Tai has not only established his reputation as a gifted singer in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China, but also his caring relationship with his father prompted Solid Rock Media to invite him to be the spokesperson for this charity concert event. Amidst his busy schedule doing concert tours in Asia, he has agreed to share his music and experiences with Bay Area Asian American families.

Samuel Tai also encourages the younger generation to strive for their dreams and develop their talents in music. He will be singing a duet with Solid Rock singer Lily Wu. Lily Wu has recently graduated from U.C. Berkeley. She is presently a radio show host at Sing Tao Chinese Radio. Lily is truly thankful for all the support she has received from Tai, and says it is an honor to be a part of this charity event.

Koa-lun Huang has won innumerable awards as a producer, a songwriter, and singer in Taiwan, Singapore, and many other Asian countries. On Oct. 8, 2000, he was invited to perform with the North American Chinese Orchestra at the world-famous Carnegie Concert Hall in New York.
