Memorial for Jenny Lin

By Associated Press

Castro Valley — Family and friends of Jenny Lin, who was killed seven years ago by an assailant who was never found, say they will gather for a memorial service May 26 at the school she attended.

The service, starting at 4 p.m. at Canyon Middle School in Castro Valley, will also serve as a dedication ceremony for a new Jenny Lin Friendship court, which has been in the making on the school’s campus for the last two years.

“Inspired by Jenny’s love for her friends, school and music, family members of volunteers began the Friendship Court project to help beautify the school campus, and to provide students a safe outdoor place for social events or music performance,” according to a statement by the group.

The Lin family also wants to remind the public that there is still a $100,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.
