Mr. Ogawa — The Trickster Hero

By Ethen Lieser

The Trickster Hero does not behave in accordance to the norms of society. He stands outside of it, doing what pleases himself. Labels and stereotypes are absent in his world.

But the Trickster has a purpose — he gives regular folks a glimpse of what lies beyond, a different vantage point. In some cases, the Trickster enlightens.

Over time, the appearance of the Trickster has transcended into a figure likened to a shark-toothed leprechaun. He has a frightening laugh, the pinky on his lip, brooding thoughts of contempt against the innocent. Of course, this is an illusion.
