Alex Gong — The Ultimate Kickboxer and Businessman

On the top floor of the Fairtex Muay Thai training center in San Francisco, Alex Gong sits in front of his computer. He is dressed like any casual businessman, articulately answering questions about … well … kickboxing. Actually, he is more blunt, articulately answering questions about … well … bone-bruising some guy’s tail.

But the way he describes his technique is scarier than Jason from Friday the 13th axing down your bedroom door. His premeditated execution of an opponent is an exact science, like Einstein’s theory of relativity or the Pythagorean theorem.

Chinese basketball star heads to Denver for shot at the NBA

Menk Batere — one of three basketball stars known as China’s “Walking Great Wall” — has left for the United States and a shot at being the second Chinese player in the National Basketball Association, a Colorado newspaper said on Oct. 2.

The 6-foot-11 center of the Beijing Ducks left on Oct. 1 for Denver, where he is to play in eight preseason games for the Nuggets, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
