Tsuyoshi Shinjos season got worse, and then it got ugly. The San Francisco Giants outfielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list when he aggravated a hamstring injury during the Giants 4-3 loss to the Cardinals on July 25. Shinjo, who is batting .237 with eight home runs and 32 RBIs, hurt himself while running to second on a double in the second inning. He stayed in the game and later hobbled home to score
The Giants traded two minor-league prospects to the Chicago White Sox for center fielder Kenny Lofton last week, which will likely put Shinjo on the bench when he comes off the disabled list. Lofton, a six-time All-Star, is batting .259 with 22 stolen bases
