Rockets Beat Lakers in Overtime

After all the controversy about race-tinged trash talk, after all the hype over the most-eagerly anticipated NBA game this year, what did I learn about Yao Ming after his first matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers’ Shaquille O’Neal last week?

That he’s still too lean. But that he’s developing that little bit o’ mean. And that he’s already an accomplished Shaq-fu blocking machine.

OCA Demands Apology, More NBA Diversity

The president of the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) demanded Friday that Los Angeles Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal offer a more serious apology for derogatory remarks he made about Houston Rockets rookie Yao Ming.

Raymond Wong of Houston spoke outside Compaq Center prior to Friday night’s game between the Lakers and Rockets that matched O’Neal and the 7'5" Chinese center for the first time.

O’Neal has apologized, saying his comments were a joke.
