Happy 50th for Japanese Chamber of Commerce Gala

January 28, 2005

The Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California celebrated the 50th anniversary of its gala with the annual New Year Gala on Jan. 8, 2005, at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame. Over 600 guests attended the event featuring famous entertainer Tonny Hirota of Japan.

The JCCNC was established in 1951 in San Francisco to promote business between Japan and the United States and to foster understanding, communication and business among its members. Three years ago, the organization moved out of San Francisco to its present location in San Mateo because more then 50 percent of its members lived in the South Bay.

— Richard Kiwata, JCCNC board member for more than 10 years
