“In the Year of the Hen, Viet-Am Women Rock,” June 16, Richie Ross was hired by San Jose City Council candidate Linda Nguyen. In the same piece, the sentence regarding the San Jose Mercury News, which read: “In a sign of the paper’s decreasing influence in the area, its recommended candidates came in third and fifth with combined votes less than either of the Nguyens” –– was not written by Vu-Duc Vuong.

In “Best Western’s Four-Star Charms,” June 16, Larry McCrae, in a photo at a Torrance, Calif., event, is the Chairman of the Board for the hotel chain. He replaced Nayan Patel in January 2005. Patel is still very much involved in the organization, and owns several Best Western properties on the East Coast.

Marguerita Fa-Kaji is married to Troy Kaji in the June 16 story “Fa in Fa-ther’s Day.” The same story should have read: “Marguerita reflects, ‘The most amazing thing about our father is his heart of service. He always puts the needs of others before himself … ’”
