Hundreds of Bay Area party people came out to the Subaru Autumn Moon Party on Oct. 21, filling the four dance floors of the popular local nightclub, Suede. Many were swaying their hips and arms as they danced and sung along to hip-hop and top 40 hits.

Hosted by Subaru and AsianWeek, the event drew approximately 700-800 people and featured the Bay Area’s top Asian DJs: Jtrix, Boy Wonder, Ehash and Alcoholik.
“What an exciting night to showcase the vitality and energy of our community,” said AsianWeek president and BART Board member James Fang, “I want to especially thank Subaru for their vision and support in helping provide a venue which taps into the enthusiasm, the pulse and the beat of this growing segment of Asian Americans.”
In front of the club, the public had a chance to view two Subaru rally cars — the Open Class 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and 2006 DC Shoes Subaru WRX STI.
“During our two-week promotion in the S.F. Bay Area, all our Subaru WRX STI models were sold out and we credit it to the great event promotions for this event,” said Abana Jacobs, Subaru of America, Inc. promotions and sponsorship specialist. “There was actually supposed to be a third car displayed but we just sold it. We’re very happy to have sponsored this event and we hope to do it again in the future. Thanks to AsianWeek and its staff for making this a great event.”
Many clubgoers looked stylish in their complimentary flashing blue necklaces. The necklace giveaway coincides with Subaru’s newly launched “Fire, Wind, and Wheels” advertising campaign for the Subaru WRX STI.
“Asian American buying power is growing three times faster than the population, but how do you tap into all this money?” said the AsianWeek Foundation’s Ted Fang. “Subaru’s cutting-edge efforts are proving that the Asian American market is unique and that you can mix leisure time activity with marketing savvy.”
“I had a lot of fun dancing tonight,” said Lisa Yu, an attendee of the event. “The music was fantastic and it was cool to see so many people here.”
Myron Lee said he heard about the event from a friend and was glad he came.
“This party was awesome!” he said. “I can’t wait for this to happen again.”
