Humble and Less Ethnocentric
I’m hoping that this incident was not retaliation (”Hmong Hunter Found Dead,” Jan. 12) against Chai Vang. I grew up in Wisconsin as a second-generation Hmong American.
Sadly, I did have many memories of being discriminated against for not speaking English and my parents were spoken to very harshly sometimes. As a child, I couldn’t help but become bitter and sad. Before any changes can occur, both sides need to humble themselves and become less ethnocentric.

Power to My Brother
Reality is that Asian American males ARE looked less favorably (”Should AsianAm Men Be Angry?” Dec. 15) than their female counterparts in mainstream society. Don’t you think the roadblock to having more professionals is due to the unfair hiring practices of all American corporations? Power to my brother, he who can date and get some from women of any race/ethnicity. :-P

Inspiring CAPAY
I am a young Asian American who has struggled in finding my identity and sense of belonging in my own community. In my life’s work I have been passionate about youth development and social change. This article (”Becoming People I Dream About,” Jan. 5) about CAPAY is inspiring and brings much peace to me!
It is so important that our youth are given a safe space to ask those critical questions so that the process of life isn’t merely accepted as is. We all have the power to make choices, to change our perspectives, and to move forward.

Adam is Still Horrible
Adam Carolla is horrible (”Racist Radio Creates Widespread Backlash,” Feb. 9). He is pathetic for trying so hard to be a shock jock like his idol Howard Stern. He is not funny and just tries too hard to get the reaction he desires. Let’s hope management dumps him soon.

Cheers to Connie
This is truly a remarkable story and an America Dream — for only in America can changes come within the same generation. My best to Connie King (”Locke ‘Mayor’ Connie King Celebrates her 82nd Birthday,” March 18, 2005).

Annoyed Not at Race
Asians are annoying in many ways (”Proof That Whites Inherently Hate Us,” Nov. 24), so it is not due to your race that America finds you annoying.
Asians will never fit into American society. They try too hard. Sorry! If you get rid of your Asian inferiority complex, maybe you would develop a personality.
