PALO ALTO — Yiaway Yeh kicked off his campaign for Palo Alto City Council on Sept. 16. Yeh, 29, is one of 11 candidates running for four open seats in the Nov. 8 election. He is currently a budget and and government analyst for several jurisdictions, including San Francisco and Santa Clara Counties, at San Francisco’s Harvey M. Rose Associates.At the campaign kick-off, Yeh spoke about his mission to find solutions to the city’s aging infrastructure, including streets and libraries; to bridge the needs of older residents with those of newer families; and to sustain the community’s economy, preserve its character and grow with an expanding Stanford University and its hospitals and shopping center.
Yeh, who formerly worked in public finance, was born in San Francisco and is a graduate of Palo Alto’s Gunn High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from American University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
