Bai Ling Gets Off
March 14, 2008
Willis Toast of Town
Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, who some might compare to Eric Stoltz’ Mask, is a hot commodity these days. She was spotted snuggling with Aaron Yoo, the Korean American star of the upcoming film 21, at the W Hotel in Los Angeles, making out with Orlando Bloom at Prince’s Oscar party, and was recently linked to Josh Hartnett. No wonder she has so much free time: All her boys are working actors, and she’s not.
The New Bai Ling
Looks like Bai Ling is officially off the hook — she was only charged a $200 fine for the $16 worth of magazines and batteries she stole absentmindedly from a LAX gift shop last month while apparently distressed about a breakup. She wrote on her blog that she would celebrate her court verdict with a “big glass of sexy wine.”
Kimora Wants to be a Geisha
Kimora Lee-Simmons recently threw a party at New York City’s most recent kiss-off to teen prostitution, Suzie Wong’s, a new lounge that’s modeled after the 1960 movie, The World of Suzie Wong. The film depicted a Hong Kong teen prostitute who was eventually married off into middle-American wifery — and feminists have been growling ever since. Lee-Simmons is just thirsty and apparently intrigued by cocktail offerings such as “Geisha” and “Madame Butterfly.”
Zhang Ziyi Fakes It With Hugh Grant
Zhang Ziyi speaks perfect English but will be faking an accent opposite Hugh Grant in the romantic comedy Lost for Words. But the role won’t be too much of a stretch for her: She plays a Chinese movie star.
Will Demps’ Kimchi Crush
Houston Texans safety Will Demps isn’t completely taken by the glitz and glamour of professional sports. MTV Cribs revealed that the San Diego State University grad had three things that remind him of his mother, who is Korean: a rice cooker, shrimp chips and a whole lot of kimchi!
Kevin James Likes Your Leftovers
Kevin James was one of the highest-paid TV comedians for a sitcom you probably never watched. On The King of Queens, he just couldn’t win as the mail delivery everyman, but James lucked out in real life when he went on a blind date with Steffiana de la Cruz, a Filipino American model who dated Sean Penn’s late brother, Chris, for six years. She wed James in 2004, became a mom and weaseled guest spots on the show as a manicurist, masseuse, bartender and golf instructor.
