SAN JOSE, Calif. — Congressman Mike Honda kick-started his 67th year on June 28 with an afternoon fund-raiser and birthday celebration at Gordon Biersch Brewery in San Jose.
Donations ranging from $125 to $4,600 were suggested to attend the event, where over 100 guests gathered to commemorate the “seventh anniversary of (Honda’s) 60th birthday,” tour the brewery and learn how beer is made.
Honda and Assemblywoman Fiona Ma led the karaoke, as they entertained guests to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”
Honda, whose real birthday is on June 27, had previously celebrated his birthday with members of his staff on June 24 in Washington, D.C., where he sang “Moon River” as a tribute to his late wife, Jeanne, according to Politico.com.
