Brittanie Ngo
Ethnicity: Vietnam
School attended: UC Irvine
Describe the perfect mate: Perfection is overrated; the beauty of human nature is our ability to love and embrace one another’s faults, to help each other evolve and grow. Hmm, sounds too lofty and pious, huh? OK [translation] - good looks.
Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp?: Angelina Jolie.
What 3 items would you bring to a desert island?: A copy of AsianWeek (How do you like that for marketing prowess?!?), a PC and T3 connectivity.
Strangest place you’ve made out?: I’m simply not that adventurous, but it would eventually have to be the crazy island I’m apparently stuck on in the previous question.
Where was your first kiss?: A mirror.
Describe your most memorable kiss: A different mirror. If you don’t know, I’m joking here, because there are things more significant than knowing this. Ask me about my family’s journey here as Vietnamese refugees, [and] you won’t be able to shut me up.
First crush and what was he/she like?: My senility only allows me to trace back to 3rd grade. It was a Pilipino cutie. We walked around the beach on a school field trip picking up seashells. We got ridiculed the entire bus ride home for “being in love.” If only love were that easy - “Here’s a puka shell … now we’re married, fool!”
What’s your favorite part of your body?: My eyes and my smile. Like Zoolander, I have but one look that works: smiling.
Quality you admire most in a man?: His FICO score. Oh … you mean what’s inside that counts? A good heart and humor, self-deprecating humor is sexy because a man who can poke fun at himself means he’s so phenomenally awesome that he has that luxury.
Quality you admire most in a woman?: The one that doesn’t compete with me in going after the above. I admire that women, despite ongoing adversity and challenges in society, always seem to rise above their circumstances and continue to forge ahead to be such an inspiration and support to those around them. We carry an incredible burden being raised and expected to be selflessly compassionate and caring towards others, yet it’s customarily taken for granted. (This is a shout out to my awesome Mom, y’all.) I’m not a hater and I don’t pride myself in differentiating myself from other women. I’m a lot like other women. We’re all beautiful in our own way, flaws and all.

Got something to say?

Brilliant,
articulate,
sensitive,
beautiful…a cause for pride. I was taught that women should grow, learn and search for opportunities to become the best possible version of themselves…Ms. Ngo is obviously embracing that goal. My generation admires such strength.
