APAs for McCain Campaign Kickoff

The Northern California Asian Pacific American Coalition for John McCain held a campaign kick-off at the Yin Ranch in Vacaville, Calif. on August 9.

Over 150 guests, VIPs and community leaders attended, including Diamond Bar City Councilman and State APA Coalition Chair Wen Chang, Environmental Coalition Chair Virginia Chang Kiraly, Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian, Milpitas Mayor Jose Esteves, California 8th Assembly District Candidate Manny Cosme, and Solano County Supervisor Mike Reagan. After words of welcome from California 13th Assembly District Candidate Harmeet Dhillon, regional chairs introduced themselves and their organizations.

Host and Region Chair C. C. Yin led an impromptu pep rally. Volunteers and leaders from all over the Bay Area and the Sacramento areas later met for a working meeting.

    [This was in 2000] On his campaign bus recently, Sen. John McCain told reporters, “I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live.”
