Chinese American Citizens Alliance Expresses Condolences Following Ft. Hood Tragedy
The Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) offers its sincerest condolences to the families who suffered the loss of their brave and gallant loved ones, support to the recovering survivors and their families and to the entire military family at Ft. Hood and the close-knit Killeen community following the tragic and heinous acts of a lone gunman.
Alliance President Carolyn Hong Chan said, “The Alliance expresses its heartfelt sympathies and prayers to the families who lost their son or daughter at what was believed to be a safe haven for our military personnel. We also pray for the injured and hope that they recover and rehabilitate quickly from their injuries. Our members, many of whom are veterans who also served in wartime, are both shocked and truly saddened by these events. While the reasons for this cowardly act remain unknown, there can be no justification for perpetrating this act upon those who voluntarily step forward to serve, defend and protect the freedoms of our country.”
“In every situation where the resolve of our people are tested, there are also heroes who have stepped forward. We also salute the brave soldiers and law enforcement personnel who not only stopped the perpetrator before more lives could be lost, but also rescued, triaged and transported those who were injured,” proclaimed Chan. ”We join all Americans in memoriam to the fallen and express prayers for complete recovery of the injured. We will lift up their families and the entire military family during this time.”
