Aaden, 18-month-old, is diagnosed with leukemia. He’s currently searching for a bone marrow/ blood stem cell match.
Aaden was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), type M7, in August 2010.
Aaden loves to play with his twin brother Andy.
He has a fighting spirit and does not even know he is sick.
He has been tolerating his treatments unbelievably well and is resilient.
Aaden’s best chance to beat the odds of his leukemia is a bone marrow transplant. His chances of finding a match is from a donor of the same ethnicity, Filipino.
Register as a potential marrow/stem cell donor today. There will be an upcoming registration drive this Saturday, October 23 from 11am to 3pm at the Great Mall in Milpitas, by the food court entrance.
Ethnicity is crucial when matching patients with donors. Patients are most likely to find a compatible donor within the same racial and ethnic group. There is a critical shortage of minorities on the national registry.
Filipinos make up only .6% of the national registry. There is no existing registry in the Philipines. People of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to register.
To register, applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 60, in general good health, fill out a consent form and do a simple cheek swab.
Upcoming Registration Drive
When: Saturday, October 23, 11:00am to 3pm.
Where: Great Mall, Milpitas (entrance 4b – food court)

I am urging all Filipinos ages 18-60 to come out on Saturday. Even if you aren’t a match for my son Aaden, you might be for someone else. Be the hope. Be the one. Be the match. Thank you!
