Chinese Speakers: Get Your Slang On!

Print Friendly

Cupertino, Calif. — Selected by Apple’s iBookstore as one of its New & Noteworthy featured items in the education category, See it!  Hear it! Say it! American Slang for Chinese Speakers was written by Candy Chan and May Lam to help people master English and overcome their fear of sounding foolish when using slang.

Chinese speakers excel at comprehending and visually memorizing words, but sometimes find difficulty in knowing how to pronounce or use the words, explains Chan. This book defines 50 commonly used phrases and words for Chinese readers in traditional Chinese characters and then shows the correct use of the selected slang in a humorous way.

Interactive features of the iBook include audio clips of the correct pronunciation read by a native English speaker, as well as definitions for the phrases in different contexts.

The book is available at the iBookstore to customers with iPads using the latest iOS version.
