Wu Yee Children’s Services annual fundraising event, Butterfly Social 2012 will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the California Academy of Sciences, 55 Music Concourse Drive, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. “Experience Metamorphosis” is the theme for this year’s event; we invite you to join us as we party at the swamp and visit the rainforest of this spectacular venue.

This year, Wu Yee celebrates 35 years of continuous direct child care and family support services to San Francisco’s low-income immigrant children and families. There is much to celebrate: Supervisor David Chiu (District 3) will conduct the Awards Ceremony as part of the evening’s festivities; Wu Yee’s Family Child Care provider, Run Man Shen will be honored for her 19 years of service. In addition to a reception style dinner and dessert, the event will feature Lok Yuen Dancers, Live and Silent Auctions, and Raffle Prizes; Mina Li from KTSF, Channel 26 will be our Emcee for the evening’s festivities. Ms. Monica Walters, our new Executive Director, welcomes you participate in this multi-cultural, fundraising affair: “Wu Yee is able to provide direct service delivery as a result of individuals and organizations making a personal investment in creating a brighter future for our children and families” she says.

Wu Yee Children’s Services is a child care and family services agency in San Francisco created in response to the overwhelming need for adequate child care and family resources for low-income, Cantonese-speaking families.  Today, as we celebrate our 35th Anniversary, Wu Yee touches the lives of over 21,000 families, children and child care providers through our five child development centers, our Joy Lok Family Resource Center in Chinatown, and our child care provider services.
