SAN FRANCISCO, CA, November 30, 2012 — International trailblazer Tsai Chin and emerging Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo Nam are joining the cast of Nice Girls Crew 2.

Chin, best known for her role as Auntie Lindo in Joy Luck Club, will play the character of Geraldine’s (Michelle Krusiec) worldly and offbeat mother. Nam joins the production as Sophie’s (Lynn Chen’s) personal assistant and love interest to one of the Nice Girls.

Additional guest appearances include comic maverick Parvesh Cheena (Outsourced, Friend Me) and Internet talent Anthony Ma.

NICE GIRLS CREW features seminal actresses Sheetal Sheth (Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World, The World Unseen), Michelle Krusiec (Chinglish, Saving Face) and Lynn Chen (Saving Face, Surrogate Valentine) as three childhood friends who gather weekly for a book club, but never actually talk about the book.

Tsai Chin

TSAI CHIN is an actor, director, teacher and author, best known in America for her film role as Auntie Lindo in The Joy Luck Club. The third daughter of Zhou Xinfang, China’s great actor in the last century, she was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art London (first Chinese student) and later earned a Master Degree at Tufts University, Boston. Her career spans more than five decades working in UK, USA and recently in China. She starred on stage on both sides of the Atlantic, (a first for a Chinese actor) in London’s West End, The World of Susie Wong and on Broadway, Golden Child; played the two most powerful women of 20th century China; for television, in The Subject of Struggle; for stage Memories of Madame Mao; was twice in Bond films, as Bond girl in You Only Live Twice, and later in Casino Royale. Her single The Ding Dong Song recorded for Decca was top of the charts in Asia. She was the first to be invited to teach acting in China after the Cultural Revolution when universities re-opened. She is now celebrated in China for her portrayal of Jia Mu in the recent TV drama series, The Dream of The Red Chamber. Her international best-selling autobiography, Daughter of Shanghai is to be a stage play by David Henry Hwang which will be produced by the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.


Leonardo Nam

LEONARDO NAM was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 8, he moved to Sydney, Australia. He attended Sydney Technical High School and studied architecture at the University of New South Wales. Leonardo left Sydney to follow his dreams of an acting career in New York City at the age of 19.

His breakthrough role was in “The Perfect Score” opposite Scarlett Johansson.  He has also had roles in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” as well as its sequel, “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”, New Line Cinema’s “He’s Just Not That Into You”, and “One For The Money” with Katherine Heigl.  Leonardo’s upcoming films include the independent features “Snake and Mongoose” and “Someone Else” opposite Aaron Yoo.

In addition, Nam has made appearances on such shows as “Bones”, “CSI”, and “Franklin and Bash”.
