Las Vegas, Nev.- Manny Pacquiao weighed in at 147-pounds, four-pounds heavier than his opponent Juan Manuel Marquez, who came in at 143.1-pounds. This may give Pacquiao a 4-7 pound weight advantage come tomorrow night when the duo look to settle their fourth fight in 7-years.
Despite guest appearances from “Iron” Mike Tyson, and Hip Hop mogul turned boxing promoter Curtis “50-Cent” Jackson, who backs undefeated Cuban-fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa, the weigh-in was quite bland. The crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena seemed to side more with Marquez, but come fight night “Pacman” will have his share of supporters.
“This fight, I dedicate to my fans,” said Pacquiao. When asked if he “still had the fire in the belly for [boxing],” Pacquiao responded with a definitive, “Yes.”
Nacho Beristain, Marquez’s longtime trainer, says he is coming off of one of his best training camps. When asked how he thought the fight would be, Marquez responded saying, “It’s gonna be a war.”
The 12-round fight will be aired tomorrow night on HBO paper-view.
