Aloha by the Bay – Music Series

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 22 – As the Nihonmachi Street Fair brings together on stage, award-winning Hawaiian recording artists Raiatea Helm, Nathan Aweau and Steven Espaniola.

Helm has been nominated for a Grammy Award, and Multiple Na Hoku Award Winner (Hawaiian Grammys) and Former female vocalist of the year. Nathan Aweau is also a Grammy Award nominee, and Multiple Na Hoku Award Winner and this years Male Vocalist of the year. Aweau is also an excellent Bass player and also the Bass player for Don Ho, legendary Hawaiian performer. Both of these artist tour throughout Japan and the U.S.

Espaniola was born in Hawaii, and currently resides in the Bay Area. Steven is debuting his 2nd CD at this performance, Steven’s first CD won him Hawaiian music awards, new artist of the year.

This year the 40th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair is set for Aug. 3 and 4 in San Francisco’s Japantown. This year they are bringing back cultural performances to the Peace Plaza. Doggie World returns for the 2nd year in a row and will occupy upper Post St.

“With last year’s huge success and participation we’re looking forward to at least 100 four legged family members participating at this year’s Doggie World Parade,” says Pat Fong, festival organizer. “This year’s Doggie World will showcase many rescue organization in San Francisco and proceeds of the Fun & Furry Pooch Contest will go to the Friends of Animal Care Control. Experience, Embrace, Enjoy everyone will find something new at the 40th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair.”
