Washington – The Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM), a network of 1,000 Asian American leaders in the investment management industry, will provide insights into the global market and emerging opportunities for international investments at its upcoming annual conference.

“Roadmap to Success: Investing in a Global Recovery,” will be held Oct. 21-22 at the InterContinental San Francisco. The annual AAAIM conference is the premier event connecting Asian American investment managers with representatives from dozens of pension plans, insurance companies, foundations, endowments, sovereign wealth funds and other financial institutions. It also gives managers the opportunity to meet and work with Asian American fund managers across all major asset classes.

In addition to investors, the conference also will feature key political leaders who will illustrate the role that politics and public policy play on the financial markets – and offer strategies on how best to comply with, and understand the latest changes to, domestic and international regulations.

Keynote speakers will be Timothy Roemer, former congressman and U.S. ambassador to India; and Victor Hwang, founder and chief executive of T2 Venture Creation.

“In the international marketplace, so many trends are evolving quickly. It’s very important to understand what’s happening across asset classes and sectors, and how these changes will impact investment decisions,” said AAAIM President Chris Chan. “This conference brings together institutional investors from across the world and seasoned investment professionals to learn about where they can look for strategic investment opportunities.”

Panel discussions will address:

· Where key institutional investors are prioritizing their allocations for investment, according to chief investment officers from some of the largest pension funds in the world.

· How to navigate the complex regulatory landscape in the domestic and global marketplace

· The latest in entrepreneurial trends, from start-up to success, according to innovators and investors.

There also will be breakout sessions dedicated to discussing the funding environment, investment strategies and latest trends behind three asset classes: real assets, private equity and hedge funds.

Speakers and participants in the conference include investment officers and trustees from: Hewlett-Packard, LACERA, California State Teachers’ Retirement System, Oregon State Treasury, California Public Employees’ Retirement System, BAML Capital Access Funds Management, Customized Fund Investment Group, Artemis Real Estate Partners, Grove Street Advisors, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Invesco Capital Partners, Credit Suisse, and the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System.
