KTVU Channel 2 is pleased to recently announce that Lisa Yokota returns to KTVU and KICU TV36 as its new Community and Public Affairs Director. The Japanese American is a 20 year-veteran of progressive broadcast marketing and community outreach projects. In her new role, she will be leading both station’s community outreach efforts like “Family 2 Family” and COX Media Group’s philanthropic initiatives like “COX Conserves.”
Prior to joining KTVU, Yokota was Director of Marketing at KTSF-TV where she developed and led implementation of Public Affairs programs and various Community Service projects. She also brings with her experience from Silicon Valley as Promotion Manager at YAHOO! She previously held the position of Sales Promotion Director at KTVU. In that role, she developed eye-catching retail campaigns for KTVU advertisers.
KTVU Vice-President and General Manager, Tom Raponi, is excited about her return to the Bay Area’s number one television station. “Lisa Yokota has been a very well-respected broadcast professional in the San Francisco market for many years and we welcome her back home to KTVU and TV36. Her expertise in marketing and community outreach is a perfect fit for our stations to continue to serve our community at the highest levels,” said Raponi.
Yokota added, “”My primary goal is to be a resource to the community; to advocate for them as well as the station.”
Re-invigorating the long-running KTVU “Family 2 Family” project which promotes educational and community concerns will be an important objective for Miss Yokota. She will also actively work with COX Media Group as a whole on “COX Conserves Heroes,” a program which honors the Bay Area’s unsung environmental volunteers and inspires neighborhood conservation.
