WANTING at Great American Music Hall, March 23
Singer-songwriter Wanting, who performed at last year’s Asian Heritage Street Celebration, returns to San Francisco to perform songs from her new album Say The Words  at The Great American Music Hall, with guest artist Dawen Wang, on March 23, 2014.

With Say The Words, the Vancouver-based, China-born singer-songwriter takes her piano-swept pop melodies to the next level, introducing elements of jazz and hip-hop on such tracks as Latin-groove tinged “Time, My Friend” (featuring Far East Movement), retro-soul “Exit This Way” and empowering rock-pop anthem “STHU.”

This Vancouver-based artist reached stardom in China, with “Everything In The World.” Her song, “Drenched,” topped the charts for weeks. Her album was recognized as the 2012 Best Album of the Year at the Beijing Billboard Music Newcomers Festival, and Qu was honored as Outstanding Regional Artist at the 12th Chinese Global Music Awards. Qu left her family in China when she was 16 and entered Canada as an international business student. It wasn’t long before she realized her true passion and dream was to become an influential recording artist.

Listen To “Time, My Friend” (Featuring Far East Movement):

Similar to her debut album Everything In The World, (which is now certified 6x Platinum in Asia), Wanting sings in both English and Mandarin. “When It’s Lonely,” the most recent breakout ballad sung in her native Mandarin, was recently featured on the Chinese version of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie soundtrack.
